Beijing and Islamabad have committed to upgrading the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aiming to deepen ties and enhance regional peace and stability. This consensus was reached during the sixth round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad.

• China and Pakistan will promote five new corridors: growth, livelihood, innovation, green, and openness.
• The dialogue was co-chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday.
• The CPEC, launched in 2013, is a flagship project of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
