President William Ruto has appointed new leaders to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) in a move to influence the future direction of police service oversight. The appointments were announced in a gazette notice dated August 22.

• Amani Yuda Komora was appointed Chairperson of the NPSC for a six-year term.
• Angeline Yiamiton Siparo was appointed as a Member of the Commission, also for a six-year term.
• Komora previously served as Vice-Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), and Siparo was the Chairperson of the National Aids Control Council from 2016 to 2022.
