Longhorn Publishers Plc has announced that Chief Executive Officer Maxwell Wahome will step down at the end of September 2025 after nine years with the company. Former CEO Simon Ngigi will return as acting CEO.

• Under Wahome’s leadership, Longhorn expanded regionally, launched digital platforms, and navigated the CBC textbook transition, despite volatile financial results including a record net loss of KSh 571 million in 2023.
• Wahome originally joined Longhorn in 2016 as CFO and COO before becoming CEO in 2018.
• Simon Ngigi, who previously led Longhorn from 2015 to 2018, brings over 20 years of publishing experience to the role.
