President William Ruto has appointed a 15-member Panel of Experts to accelerate compensation for victims of demonstrations and public protests across Kenya.

• The panel aims to establish a comprehensive framework for identifying, verifying, and supporting affected individuals, as announced in a Gazette Notice.
• The team will be chaired by Professor Makau Mutua, his Constitutional Advisor, with Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo Mony serving as vice-chairperson.
• Notable members include Kennedy N. Ogeto and Dr Duncan Ojwang’, who recently declined a different government appointment.
