Lawmakers from Kenya Moja, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, are demanding the immediate resignation of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Social Health Authority (SHA) board chair Mohamed Abdi over alleged multibillion-shilling fraude at the SHA. The group has called for a Commission of Inquiry into the agency within 48 hours.

• Total alleged debt at SHA, including unpaid claims, is a staggering Sh75 billion.
• The MPs claim CS Duale is linked to the company that developed SHA’s system and Mohamed Abdi is associated with Ladnan Hospital, which allegedly received Sh66 million.
• Examples of alleged fraud include Divine Sparkle Medical Centre (Homa Bay) receiving Sh2.8 million despite not existing, and Sipili Maternity and Nursing Hospital, which allegedly received nearly Sh5 million after being shut down.
