A total of 14 school children have been arrested in Umoja, Nairobi, following violent clashes that led to the death of a 15-year-old boy. The arrests are part of a crackdown on juvenile gangs in the area.

• 14 teenagers (10 boys and 4 girls) aged between 12 and 19, were apprehended.
• The deceased is identified as Joshua Kubiti, who succumbed to injuries at Radiant Hospital, Umoja.
• The arrested minors were arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts and will be detained as investigations continue, as per court orders secured by Buruburu-based detectives.
• The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) linked the violence to rival gangs named Chinje, Mbogi, Bad Bunny, and Silent, involved in phone snatching and theft in areas like Umoja I, II, & III, Tena, Innercore, Kayole, Kariobangi, and surrounding estates.
• Recruitment into these gangs reportedly increases during school holidays.
