Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has formally petitioned the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate alleged massive corruption and systematic looting within Busia County, totaling Ksh5.2 billion. He claims the funds were lost through financial mismanagement and irregularities.

• The accusations are based on a fraud audit report commissioned by Senator Omtatah in July 2025.
