The Fourth Contingent of the Kenya Quick Reaction Force (KENQRF 4), serving under the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), received UN service medals on Friday, August 29, for their outstanding performance during a one-year tour of duty. These Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers were commended for their professionalism and commitment in the challenging environment of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

• KENQRF emerged as the best Contingent within the Force Intervention Brigade (FIB) in the first Quarter of 2025.
• Lieutenant General Ulisses de Mesquita Gomes, MONUSCO Force Commander, praised the Kenyan peacekeepers for their professionalism and community engagement.
• The KDF has been contributing troops to MONUSCO since 2020 as part of a DRC government request made in 2019.
