The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has seized illicit alcoholic beverages valued at over Ksh.2.4 million in an enforcement operation in Murang’a County. The raid, prompted by a public tip-off, targeted an illegal manufacturing plant at Wellcreek Restaurant.

• Over 6,134 litres of illicit alcoholic beverages were recovered, including finished products and unpackaged compounded liquor.
• The KRA, the primary organization involved, stated the operation was a result of public intelligence on illegal activities along the Nairobi–Embu Road.
• The seized unlicesnsed alcohol would have cost the State approximately Ksh.600,000 in excise tax revenue.
