The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) has denied claims of a mass relocation of thousands of staff to its African headquarters, clarifying that only limited, gradual movements are occurring.

• Chris Kirkcaldy, Director of the Division of Administrative Services (DAS) at UNON, stated that reports of mass migration were misleading, with agencies requesting space for modest numbers like 100, 120, or 160 staff.
• UNICEF, UNFPA, and UN Women are among agencies expected to relocate some staff.
• Zainab Hawa Bangura, Under-Secretary-General and Director-General of UNON, confirmed that relocations are driven by cost-efficiency and the need to serve Africa-based clients, not a shift of UN headquarters.
