Harambee Stars player Boniface Muchiri has vowed to build his mother, Mildred Akinyi, a house using the millions received from the President for the team's performance at CHAN. Muchiri attributes his football success and recent promotion in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to his mother's unwavering support and sacrifices.

• Muchiri was recently promoted to the rank of Corporal in the KDF, a recognition of his excellence on the field.
• The promotion ceremony was presided over by Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri.
• Muchiri, 29-years-old, was instrumental in the Harambee Stars' reaching the quarter-finals in the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
