A mother and her seven-year-old child were killed in a boda boda accident on Friday evening in Kericho County after the motorcycle's brakes failed.

• The incident occurred at Samisbei area along the Kaplelartet–Kapsorok road.
• According to Chief Robert Korir, the child died on the scene, while the mother succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.
• The victims were returning from a prayer day at Kakibei Girls Secondary School.
