A search operation is underway in Kisumu West after a woman was tragically dragged into Lake Victoria by a crocodile on Friday night. Witnesses reported the middle-aged woman was washing her gloves after cleaning a fish banda when the reptile attacked her.

• The victim was seized by a crocodile after stepping into Lake Victoria to wash her gloves near Ogal Beach.
• Moses Otieno, Chairman of the local Beach Management Unit (BMU), confirmed the incident and noted that crocodile attacks are rare in the area.
• Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and local police have been alerted, and fishermen are assisting in the search, focusing on reeds where crocodiles may hide prey.
