The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has reassured visitors to Karura Forest that the transition to the government’s eCitizen platform for payments will not disrupt their experience. All payments for services like gate entry and parking will now be made through the approved platform, in line with a National Treasury directive.

  • All payments for services at Karura Forest will now be made exclusively through eCitizen PayBill number 222222.
  • Chief Conservator of Forests Alex Lemarkoko confirmed that all staff will be retained and annual passes will remain valid until expiry.
  • The new system allows payments by phone and card with an average processing time of about one minute.
