The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is seeking to withdraw corruption charges against former Migori Governor Okoth Obado as part of ongoing plea bargain negotiations. The case, involving Ksh.505 million, also implicates his four children and several co-accused.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has stated it has not yet signed the plea bargain agreement.
The EACC had initially sought to recover over Ksh.1.9 billion and previously reached a settlement with Obado to surrender properties worth Ksh.428 million.
The matter has been adjourned to Friday this week to finalize agreements.
