Martha Karua, leader of the People’s Liberation Party (PLP), has strongly refuted claims of aligning with President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza government. She denied following Raila Odinga's footsteps, calling the allegations "fake news."

• Karua stated, "I do not belong to William Ruto's praise choir, and I believe that he is the most unsuitable character to ever have occupied high office."
• She confirmed supporting former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's ‘wantam’ agenda and announced her intention to vie for the presidential seat in 2027.
• Karua clarified she parted ways politically with Raila Odinga due to his closeness with President Ruto and would only work with him again if he severed those ties.
