The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested eight suspects in Mtito Andei, Makueni County, believed to be part of a criminal gang responsible for violent robberies across Nairobi, Nakuru, and Mombasa. This breakthrough follows months of investigation into the gang's activities, which have significantly impacted businesses and residents in the targeted regions.

• On August 22, 2025, the gang, comprising 25 to 30 armed individuals, raided Century Mabati Ltd in Nakuru County, stealing steel coils, machinery, and a tuk-tuk.
• The arrests were facilitated by the interception of a lorry carrying goods stolen during a major robbery in Nyali, Mombasa.
• Investigators recovered a Toyota Porte used as a getaway car, crude weapons, and a Century Mabati-branded apron.
