A new report by the Office of the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o has revealed significant government expenditure, particularly within the Executive Office of the President. The report, National Government Budget Implementation Review Report for the financial year 2024–2025, highlighted massive spending on printing services and advisors, prompting concerns about financial wastage.

• The Executive Office of the President spent an average of Ksh. 2 million per day on printing services in the last financial year, totaling Ksh. 817 million.
• President William Ruto’s office allocated a total of Ksh. 1 billion to advisors, whose number has reached 20 in the Kenya Kwanza administration.
• The report also disclosed that State House, Nairobi, spent Ksh. 399 million on refurbishment, with total costs for the ongoing construction reaching Ksh. 1.17 billion so far.
