Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other opposition leaders have united to vehemently condemn alleged rampant government corruption, specifically targeting the new Social Health Authority (SHA).

• Gachagua branded the SHA a “grand scam” designed to siphon billions from taxpayers, accusing officials of channeling funds to “ghost hospitals” while legitimate institutions remain unpaid.
• He directly accused President William Ruto’s administration of enabling corruption, claiming that delegations visiting State House are given bribes, citing an incident where people from Kiambu allegedly received ten thousand shillings each.
• Other prominent opposition figures, including Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, echoed the criticism, vowing to remain a united front against the “plunder of public resources” and support a single opposition presidential candidate in the 2027 general election.
