Four men have been charged afresh in a case involving the fraudulent replacement of a SIM card belonging to former Central Police OCS Samson Kiprotich Taalam. The accused now face 12 counts, including conspiracy to commit a felony, computer fraud, and identity theft, for an alleged scheme between June 16 and 19, 2025, to illegally access and withdraw funds from Taalam’s M-Pesa account.

• Four individuals—Brian Ronoh Kiprotich, Amos Nzomo Kimanzi, James Mutemi Munyithya, and Dennis Masavi Musimi—are now facing a total of 12 charges.
• The central figure affected by the SIM swap fraud is former OCS Samson Kiprotich Taalam.
• One of the accused, Kiprotich, was arrested with at least seven different identity cards, while lawyer Danstan Omari argued to revoke bail due to public danger and unprecedented access to an IPOA exhibit.
