The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has issued strict guidelines for independent candidates in the upcoming November 27, 2025 by-elections, emphasizing a peaceful campaign period from October 8 to November 24, 2025.

• Independent candidates must obtain a clearance certificate from the Registrar of Political Parties confirming no political party membership for at least three months prior to the by-election.
• IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethokon directed that symbols and names be submitted electronically and in print to Anniversary Towers, 21st Floor, by September 17, 2025.
• Senate independent candidates require 2,000 registered voter signatures, National Assembly candidates 1,000, and County Assembly candidates 500, along with identity details.
