Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced extensive reforms for Kenya's National Police Service, including redesigned police stations, new uniforms, and updated promotion guidelines. These changes aim to modernize facilities and improve officer welfare and career progression.

• New Police Station Designators: Future police stations will feature gender desks, OCS offices, child-related incident desks, CCTV surveillance, and secured armouries, with ICT equipment. The initial phase targets constructing 300 stations.
• Uniform Changes: All police officers and National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) will receive new uniforms. Importantly, female officers will now be provided with maternity uniforms.
• Promotions and Welfare: A new legal framework will guide progression, remuneration, and schemes of service, focusing on promoting long-serving corporals (15 years) and constables (50 years old) based on merit.
