Rwanda is making history by launching Africa’s first public self-flying electric air taxi. This demonstration, featuring the EH216-S electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, is set to take place during the Aviation Africa 2025 Summit in Kigali on September 4–5.

• The pilotless aircraft will conduct Africa’s first public flight of its kind.
• The Government of Rwanda has partnered with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and EHang Holdings Limited for this initiative.
• This project positions Rwanda as a continental hub for testing and implementing advanced aviation technology, aiming to ease traffic and connect remote communities.
