Kenyan Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve was tragically killed in a road accident in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, just two days after a cheerful final call with his mother. Serving under the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM), Nzuve had expressed happiness and a growing love for Haiti to his mother, Serah Ndunge, on August 29.

• Nzuve was one of two people killed in the accident involving two armored vehicles on August 31, with eight others injured.
• He joined the National Police Service in 2005 and was part of the 3rd Kenyan contingent deployed to Haiti.
• The family, from Machakos County, is appealing to the government for assistance with repatriation and burial.
