Former Migori County Governor Okoth Obado and his co-accused have forfeited assets worth Ksh.235 million after reaching a plea bargain agreement with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to end a Ksh.73.4 million corruption case. This agreement follows charges of misappropriation of funds from the County Government of Migori.

• Obado and 17 co-accused persons were facing 25 counts related to the alleged misappropriation of Ksh.73.4 million between 2013 and 2017.
• The plea deal was initiated through an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) request by the accused, with the ODPP engaging the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and defence lawyers.
• Forfeited properties include Loresho Ridge House (Ksh.40 million), Sunrise Centre Commercial Block (Ksh.88 million), and two Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles, totaling assets valued at three times the contested amount.
