The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has announced a new list of licenced broadcasting, postal, and telecommunications companies. The CA is also inviting public comments on these new licences, published in a gazette notice on September 5, before their final approval.
- Several new broadcasters were approved, including Katende Wasya Munene FM, TV47 (transfer), Powerflow Television, and Rhema Feast TV.
- Existing broadcasters like Cable One Limited, Christβs Co-Worker Fellowship (Revival TV), and Akili Partners Limited (Akili TV) received licence renewals.
- New postal and telecommunications licences were granted to companies such as Boma Net Limited (Network Facilities Provider Tier Three), Rollermax Courier Limited (international courier operator), and Northways Services Sacco Limited (national courier company).
- The licensing process is governed by the Kenya Information and Communications Act, Cap. 411A, ensuring public interest regulation.
