Villagers in Sudan's western Darfur region are using their hands to dig for victims after a devastating landslide on Sunday, according to aid group Save the Children. The remote area makes rescue efforts extremely challenging, with teams believing it to be one of the region's most tragic disasters.

• At least 373 bodies have been recovered according to the head of the Civil Authority, while an estimated 1,000 lives, including 200 children, may have been lost.
