A total lunar eclipse, known as a “blood moon” due to its red glow, is set to occur on Sunday, September 7, 2025, starting at 8:30 pm and lasting for 82 minutes. This phenomenon happens when the Earth aligns between the moon and the sun, casting a red hue on the moon’s surface.

• This “blood moon” is the second lunar eclipse of 2025 and is expected to be visible to nearly six billion people globally.
• The Ministry of Tourism in Kenya will host an Astro-tourism experience in Samburu County to launch a new initiative.
• This will be the longest 82-minute totality of the decade, observable with the naked eye, unlike solar eclipses which require special glasses.
