President William Ruto departed for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the Africa Climate Summit, a pivotal event aimed at advancing Africa's leadership in climate action and green growth.

• The summit, running from September 8 to September 10, follows the first Africa Climate Summit hosted in Nairobi in September 2023, which unveiled the Nairobi Declaration.
• State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed confirmed that President Ruto will launch the report “From Nairobi to Addis Ababa: Africa’s Journey of Climate Action and Partnership.”
• President Ruto will also witness the signing of the Cooperation Framework for the Africa Green Industrialisation Initiative (AGII) and address the Africa-CARICOM Summit, while also being the chief guest at the inauguration of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
