Itumbi specifically refuted the claim that the President was in Mombasa on Friday, September 8, calling it a deliberate lie.

• The Daily Nation reported on supposed unsuccessful meetings between President Ruto and top police officials, including Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Deputy Eliud Lagat, to end a stalemate in the 10,000 police recruitment process.
• Itumbi stated that the President was not in Mombasa on Friday, September 8, but rather on Thursday, September 4, for the opening of the Agricultural Society of Kenya Show, and on Friday, September 5, was at State House in Nairobi.
• The recruitment delay is attributed to internal wrangles within the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), with new regulations under the National Police Service Commission Recruitment and Appointment Regulations Act, 2025 to be followed.
