The Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) will conduct a compliance assessment of veterinary practitioners across seven counties in September 2025. Two teams will be dispatched to verify that practitioners hold valid 2025 licenses and compliant premises, with unregistered individuals facing penalties.

• Practitioners must display a valid 2025 practice licence, retention card, and Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) licence.
• The assessment will cover Turkana, West Pokot, Trans Nzoia, Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Baringo counties.
• Those employing unlicensed veterinary practitioners face a fine of up to Ksh100,000 or imprisonment for at least one year, or both.
