A strong squad of 29 players will represent Kenya at the upcoming International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Handgun World Shoot Championship in South Africa, starting Tuesday next week until September 28. This follows a successful Pre-World Shoot competition held at Bamburi Rifle Club (BRC) in Mombasa.
- The championship is a highest Level V competition on the IPSC match calendar.
- The Kenya Sports Shooting Federation (KSSF) organized the local competition, involving participants from Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), National Police Service (NPS), Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and civilians.
- Winners in various divisions included Sunny Syan (Open Division, 1,025 points), Geoffrey Pesa (PCC Optics, 991 points), and Pravir Vohra (Production Optics Division, 1,055 points).

In preparation for the 22nd Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon, a 21km warm-up race was held at Parklands Sports Club. Peter Mwangi and Fridah Ndinda emerged victorious in the event, which gathered over 1500 participants as a prelude to the main marathon on October 26, 2025.
