A persistent clash between the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) and the National Police Service (NPS) has again halted the recruitment of 10,000 police officers. The disagreement centers on who should conduct the recruitment and whether the process should be digital or manual, despite a previously agreed roadmap.

• The recruitment advertisement was due on September 11, with recruits expected to report by November 17.
• Peter Leley, Chief Executive Officer of NPSC, stated the Commission is severely underfunded, receiving only Ksh 75 million against a required Ksh 395 million, with recruitment funds allocated directly to the NPS.
