The Kenyan government is seeking private sector funding to revive its low-cost cooking gas project after a similar initiative failed. The Energy and Petroleum Ministry has invited firms to express interest in funding and distributing six-kilogramme gas cylinders to households.

• The project targets households in rural and peri-urban areas across the country.
