The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has handed over a consignment of heroin, seized at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on November 9, 2020, to Tanzanian authorities. This follows a Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) request from Tanzania to support criminal proceedings against suspects Mohammed Yusuph Mzimba and Enrique Dos Santos.

• 56 packages of heroin, weighing 1,712.34 grams and camouflaged as hair braids, were intercepted during transit.
• The handover was coordinated through the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), led by Director Samwel Laboso.
• Interpol’s National Central Bureau (NCB) Director Ibrahim Jillo called for stronger collaborations to curb criminal networks.
