Acumen, an impact investor, has launched its second KawiSafi Fund II, a $90 million initiative to accelerate climate solutions across Africa. This fund builds on the success of its predecessor, aiming to impact 50 million people and avert 50 million tons of CO2 emissions.

• $40 million of the fund is already committed, with backing from the African Development Bank, Green Climate Fund, and other partners.
• The fund will target sectors such as distributed renewable energy, clean transportation, resilient mobility, clean cooking, and nature-based carbon solutions.
• Amar Inamdar, Managing Director of the KawiSafi funds, emphasized the milestone, stating capital should flow toward an inclusive, low-carbon future.
