The Kenyan government is implementing new regulations for boda boda riders, including mandatory uniforms and SACCO membership, to curb lawlessness and improve sector accountability. This follows a meeting between Nairobi Regional Police Commander George Seda and the National Boda Boda Association leadership in Nairobi.

• All boda boda riders will soon be required to wear county-specific uniforms and join Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs).
• The Boda-Boda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK), chaired by Kevin Mbadi, has partnered with lawyers to offer free legal services to aggrieved riders nationwide.
• The boda boda sector supports approximately 1.6 million riders, including nearly 1.3 million young people, making it a significant source of employment in Kenya.
