George Wainaina, Secretary General of the Kenya African National Union (KANU), was among three people arrested on Thursday evening following the shooting death of city lawyer Kyalo Mbobu on Tuesday, September 9.

• Wainaina reportedly had a meal with Mbobu just hours before the lawyer was fatally shot by unknown assailants.
• Mbobu was shot eight times in a drive-by shooting in the Galleria Brookside area in Karen while heading home.
• Wainaina's lawyer confirmed the arrest but stated no specific charges were given, and he was later hospitalized from Kileleshwa Police Station due to health issues.
