President William Ruto has directed Cabinet Secretaries Julius Ogamba (Education) and John Mbadi (Treasury) to align school capitation disbursement with the academic calendar to prevent learning disruptions. This directive follows concerns raised by the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) regarding delayed funding.

• The President has given the two CSs three months to present a comprehensive report by December this year.
• The issue stems from a disconnect between the education calendar (January to December) and the financial year (July 1).
• KUPPET Chairperson Omboko Milemba highlighted that schools faced early closures in the second term due to inadequate capital.
