Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), operating as the Kenyan Quick Reaction Force (KENQRF), have escalated security operations in Eastern DRC, particularly in Ituri Province, in response to increased attacks by illegal armed groups. These intensified patrols, conducted alongside MONUSCO and other international forces, have significantly improved the security situation for civilians.
- KENQRF is working with MONUSCO, the Indonesian Rapid Deployment Battalion, and the Republic of South Africa Battalion (RSABATT).
- Commander Lieutenant Colonel Simon Seda stated that the security situation has "significantly improved" since operations began "a few weeks ago."
- KDF troops have intensified joint patrols in areas including Komanda, Ngeleza, Bandiamosi, Bamande, and Irumu Villages.
