A public rift between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders Edwin Sifuna and Junet Mohamed is threatening the party’s upcoming 20th anniversary celebrations in Mombasa.

Junet Mohamed criticized ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna for his stance on the broad-based government, attributing it to his association with "wrong company" such as Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba.
Junet asserted that ODM, having signed an MOU with President William Ruto at KICC, remains committed to the broad-based government, irrespective of Sifuna's personal views.
The ODM 20th anniversary celebrations, scheduled from Friday, October 10, to Sunday, October 12, will include a youth concert, women's convention, football tournament, and youth summit, with build-up events in Migori and Wajir counties.
