The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), led by Rigathi Gachagua, has dismissed "misleading" claims that its candidate, Edgar Busiega, has withdrawn from the Malava parliamentary by-election. The party asserts that Busiega "remains firmly in the race" for the seat, which became vacant after the death of Moses Malulu Injendi.

• DCP’s Secretary General, Hezron Obaga, described the withdrawal claims as "misleading" and manufactured by political opponents.
• The Malava parliamentary by-election is scheduled for November 27, 2027.
• Other candidates in the race include Caleb Sunguti (Roots Party) and Joab Manyasi (Democratic National Alliance (DNA)), while the ruling UDA party is also preparing to field a candidate.
