The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has initiated Phase II of the Kisii Bypass project, upgrading the 14.62 km road connecting Kisii and Nyamira counties from an earth road to bitumen standard.

• The Kisii Bypass Phase II links Kegati town in Kisii County and Omogonchoro town in Nyamira County.
• Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo stated the project aims to ease traffic, boost connectivity, and unlock economic potential through trade and agriculture.
• This development follows a government announcement to expand four major highways and construct up to 13 footbridges nationally, detailed in a September 16 gazette notice by the Ministry of Transport.
