The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has criticized Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen for suggesting police can disregard a court order prohibiting them from concealing their identities during protests.

• Murkomen claimed the court orders are "subject to interpretation" and officers can hide their identities "to protect themselves."
• LSK president Faith Odhiambo responded that court orders are not subject to interpretation by anyone except Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction, stating Murkomen's stance demonstrates a "stark ignorance of the law."
• The High Court issued orders in August 2024 directing the Inspector General of Police to ensure officers display name tags and service numbers during demonstrations.
