Rigathi Gachagua's Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has named Furaha Chengo Ngumbao as its candidate for the upcoming Magarini Constituency by-election. The seat became vacant after the 2022 Parliamentary election results were annulled.

• DCP's Secretary General Hezron Obaga presented the nomination certificate to Ngumbao on Thursday.
• The party will not contest the Muumbini Ward, Makueni County by-election, supporting Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Patriotic Front.
• DCP also stepped aside in Kabuchai/Chwele Ward, Bungoma County, backing Eugene Wamalwa's Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).
• The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will conduct 24 by-elections with the campaign period set from Wednesday, October 8, to Monday, November 24.
