The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has approved the promotion of 117 judicial officers following interviews held between August 4 and 13, 2025. These promotions, ratified during meetings on Thursday, September 11, and Monday, September 15, took immediate effect to strengthen judicial capacity and enhance access to justice.

• 9 officers were promoted to Chief Magistrate, including Kimilu Esther Kalunde and Ooko Peter Oduor.
• The JSC, through its Secretary Winfridah Mokaya, emphasized the promotions’ role in improving service delivery and recognizing individual excellence.
• 67 judicial officers were elevated to Senior Principal Magistrate, 6 to Principal Magistrate, 15 to Senior Principal Kadhi, and 20 to Principal Kadhi.
