Kenyan Members of Parliament are advocating for the return of land previously donated by the Kisumu State Lodge to other government bodies, citing critical security concerns. This recommendation follows an inspection by the Administration and Internal Security Committee to assess the condition and address challenges at various state lodges.

• The Manager of Kisumu State Lodge, Vincent Ndubi, highlighted that the donated land poses a security threat and should be reclaimed.
• The Kisumu State Lodge has an allocation of Ksh77 million for refurbishment in the 2025/26 financial year.
• Concerns were also raised about the deteriorating sewer connections at Kakamega State Lodge by Manager, Gladys Khisa, despite receiving an allocation of Ksh28.1 million.
• The Committee also flagged deplorable conditions, including a leaking roof and inadequate security, at Nakuru State House.
