The Controller of Budget (CoB) has admitted an error in its recent County Government Budget Implementation Review Report for 2024/25, which incorrectly stated that Homa Bay County managed 584 bank accounts. Following a clarification from the county, the CoB acknowledged the inaccuracy and committed to issuing a revised report with corrected figures.

• The initial report erroneously included 284 Level 1 community health units that do not possess bank accounts.
• Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o confirmed the error, stating the correct number of accounts for Homa Bay County is 272, not 558.
• These 272 accounts include 207 for Level 2 and 3 health facilities, 24 for Level 4 and 5 facilities, and 35 for vocational centres.
