China is urging more countries to join its alliance with Myanmar and Thailand to combat the global threat of online and telecom fraud. This call was made at a subforum during the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum.

• Assistant Minister of Public Security Liu Zhongyi emphasized the need for a joint international response to increasingly rampant fraud.
• The trilateral effort has already resulted in the dismantling of numerous fraud dens and the apprehension of a large number of suspects, including members of several major crime syndicates in Kokang, northern Myanmar.
• Myanmar Police Force Headquarters official Kyaw Zaya highlighted the need for greater public awareness, stronger cybersecurity measures, and more robust responses from financial institutions.
