Deonysias Mwangi confirmed his intention to resign citing "systemic failure by the County Executive to implement development projects."
The resignation letter reportedly leaked online without Mwangi's knowledge, before reaching the Speaker.
According to Kenyan Law, specifically Article 194(1)(d) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, an MCA's resignation must be formally acknowledged by the Speaker to be valid.
